Healing Time

Here's a general guideline for the healing times for various piercings.
Individual healing times can vary, so it's crucial to follow proper aftercare instructions and consult with Millie if you have any concerns.
The given times represent estimates for your piercing to heal and become an integral part of your body, but it doesn't imply that you can remove the jewelry during this period.

Some Helpful Tips
Stay healthy
Taking good care of your new piercing is about taking care of your whole self. Eat well, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, and manage stress. Cutting back on smoking, drinking, and recreational substances not only benefits your overall health but also supports your piercing's healing process.

Don't sleep on your new piercing!
Be gentle with your new piercing, especially while sleeping. Applying too much pressure can lead to issues like irritation bumps, rejection, and a longer healing time. Treat it kindly, and it'll thank you.
Do not touch your piercing with dirty hands
Keep your hands clean when handling your healing piercing to avoid potential inflammation. Contrary to some advice, there's no need to twist or turn your jewelry during the healing process—just let it be unless it requires cleaning.
Check your jewelry
Regularly inspect your jewelry, especially if it has screwed ends. Ensure everything is secure and snug by checking with clean hands.
Keep your jewelry in
While your piercing is healing, it's best to keep the jewelry in at all times. After it's fully healed, you can change it, but avoid leaving it out for extended periods. If you need to remove it temporarily, consult your piercer for suitable alternatives.
Avoid other people's bodily fluids
Treat your healing piercing like an open wound, maintaining caution even in committed relationships. Different bacteria can exist, so keep it clean and avoid unnecessary exposure.
Don't let your clothing constrict your piercing
Give your piercing some space. For belly button piercings, ensure your clothes don't rub on it. Be mindful of large belts, tight waistbands, lace, and fishnets.
If bras irritate your nipple piercings, try cotton tops or sports bras. Also, keep tight clothing away from piercings and micro dermals.
Wear clean clothes
Keep anything touching your piercing clean, including clothing and bedding. Using clean T-shirts as pillowcases can be beneficial for healing facial and ear piercings.
Keep makeup, hair products, and facewash away
Be especially careful with facewash, moisturizers, hairspray, foundation, and powders.
Clean your mobile phone
Wipe down your mobile phone, especially if it comes into contact with your new piercing. Consider using the other ear when using the phone for added comfort.

Keep pets away from new piercings
Pets are cute, but they shed. Cats walk in their litter box and dogs lick more than just your face. Keep pets out of your bed during the healing process.
Something else to avoid
For the first 4 weeks, steer clear of tanning beds, swimming pools, saunas, baths, and prolonged exposure to sun and heat. Keep in mind that individual healing times can vary.
If you have any questions regarding your new piercing or if you have any concerns, please feel free to get in touch. The worst thing you can do is ask Google since you can never find a straight answer and misinformation is everywhere! Save yourself the time and send a quick message to Millie ♥
